Have you ever had the impression that your life was lacking something?

Everyone has, so who am I to say otherwise?

I was unhappy once. But terrible, not just unhappy.

I used to wonder what other people had that I did not have when I saw them. I had had enough of my life. And the turning point that made everything different was getting tired of it. I started pushing toward what made my heart sing because of it.

As time went on, I realized that my habits, which had developed over the years, were the source of my misery rather than anything external to me.

I want to tell you about those habits and the steps I took to break them.

1. Waiting for clarity.

I believed that I needed to know where I was headed in order to be happy doing what I liked.

As it happens, it wasn’t. I just believed it to be a thought.

I found that I could always move forward one step at a time, clarity or lack thereof, when I just did my best and acted in spite of my confusion.

It was similar to strolling through dense fog. As long as I continued going, more of my path became visible. But nothing would happen if I remained motionless.

Fix: Do not wait for further information. Take a small step forward and pay attention to your heart. It does not need to be flawless.

2. Seeking permission from others.

I wanted other people to confirm that I was headed in the correct direction. I felt more and more empty within the more I did this.

Why? since I was ceding my authority. I was depending on someone else’s guide system rather than listening to my own.

It was disempowering and perplexing.

Life has never been simple for me to trust. I am a big worryer. But as time has gone on, I have come to understand that the only path to a happy existence is to trust oneself.

My inner wisdom became more powerful once I stopped attempting to get approval or solve problems because my thoughts were no longer interfering with it.

Fix: Do not seek approval from others for your aspirations. Seek out the things that bring you life. That is sufficient.

Living in the future and believing that achieving my objectives will make me happier is another bad habit I have.

But once more, I have realized that this is merely an idea that I give authority to.

I have also observed that I have accomplished a lot of objectives that I had hoped would bring me joy but didn’t.

Like me, you have undoubtedly heard the saying “happiness comes from the inside” a lot. It is now accessible right here.

“That is all well and good, but how can I use that in my life?” was a question I pondered for a while.

The solution was to observe my thoughts and allow them to drift by. I do not have to accept every idea that suggests the secret to my happiness lies in the future.

After letting those thoughts go, I discovered that I always have access to a source of delight within.

Fix: Simply pay attention to what you are doing when you find yourself living in the future. Let go of the inclination and take note of the situation. Do not worry if you do not get it right; this is a practice.

4. Wanting to take big leaps.

I want to make bold moves when I am tempted to believe that the future will save me. I want to reach my objective quickly.

However, this behavior reduces the likelihood that I will achieve my aim. My work becomes sloppy as a result. It emits a scent of self-centeredness.

However, there is a sense of calm if I allow things to happen gradually and if I allow those thoughts to fade.

I am not rushing as I type this. I see it, but I feel the urge to complete. I stay out of it. After that, I get back to writing and letting the words come to me naturally.

And a smile comes to my soul. My heart nods. I inhale more deeply.

As I recall: “This is it. This is life.

Fix: Big leaps are predicated on the idea of enjoyment in the future. Breathe deeply. Take note of the abundance of happiness that is currently available. Just remembering who you are is all that is required—no significant changes.

I thought I could get rid of negativity from my life for a long time.

However, it is not necessary for every day to be joyful.

Life can be challenging at times. How I relate to it is the issue, not the obstacle itself. I suffer if I believe it should not be there.

Once more, it is a matter of my thinking. Life is what it is; my perception of it is shaped by my thoughts.

I can let go of my expectations once I recognize them. This just means I do not have to add gasoline to the fire, not that I do not still feel the pain of what I consider to be evil.

Although I have no control over life, I do have power over how I spend my time.

I only need to pay attention to what is happening and how I am constructing my perception of the present; I do not need to alter my thinking.

Fix: Observe how you are sad because of your expectations. Focus your concentration on this particular time. With what you have, make the most of it.

6. Taking your thoughts seriously.

“You are inadequate.”

“Following your heart will lead to homelessness.”

“How will you be perceived by others?”

Everybody has frightening thoughts. On other days, though, I do not give a damn about those thoughts.

What, therefore, distinguishes the good days from the bad? Just my condition. My emotional immune system is more steady when I am feeling good.

I keep in mind that my emotions are just a reflection of how reliable my thoughts are. I should take my thoughts less seriously when I am feeling down.

I can solve problems when I am feeling happy. However, I frequently discover that issues resolve themselves if I am prepared to move aside.

That being said, I keep saying that our thoughts, not our situations, are what cause us to be sad.

The solution is to try thinking less seriously for a period of sixty seconds at a time. Observe your feelings and what transpires.

7. Playing things safe.

I am nervous, scared, and frightened when I step outside of my comfort zone.

However, the discomfort eventually becomes bearable. It starts to feel familiar.

What was different? My thoughts.

My mind gradually returns to normal when I let nervous ideas to fade. However, I delay the “healing” process if I attempt to solve the problem.

I have come to the realization that I must develop and push myself if I want to be happy in life. I have to get out of my comfort zone in order to accomplish it. I need to quit being cautious.

In this world, there are no assurances.

I can only be conscious of my thoughts and follow my heart. That is all. It is acceptable for me to have frightening ideas. I have one more small step to go.

Fix: Recognize that stepping outside of your comfort zone is just adopting a different way of thinking. You can always follow your instincts and move forward.

8. Focusing on lack.

I can have a great life, work at what I love, and have amazing relationships.

However, I make myself miserable if I concentrate on one item that goes wrong.

Furthermore, there will always be something “wrong” in life.

The secret to happiness is to learn to live with your difficulties rather than trying to solve them. to become aware of how your thoughts lead to problems.

This does not imply that I ignore issues. It indicates that I do not worry about them. I do my best to find answers, but I do not try to coerce them.

I have found that I let my inner wisdom guide me when I stop thinking. When I am not thinking, like when I am taking a stroll, doing the dishes, meditating, or taking a shower, I frequently find answers to difficulties.

I give it my all and then let it go.

Fix: Take note of your propensity to dwell on the ideas that indicate something is amiss. Put your focus on the observer of those ideas. They are not you. You can look at them and take a breath.

9. Resisting obstacles.

I avoided problems for years because I believed they would prevent me from achieving my goals.

And I believed that I would be happy if I got what I desired.

Then, however, I realized that these challenges were actually stepping stones that were assisting me in pursuing my purpose.

I become intrigued rather than continuing to oppose challenges. What can I learn from this, I ask myself?

It appears that everything has a purpose.

I get stronger the more I give myself over to life. And this surrender, in my opinion, just means giving up on trying to manage life or figure things out.

Fix: Do not struggle with life. Accept life. Develop an interest in the issues you are facing. Take your time fixing them. Leave them alone for a bit and see the outcomes.

10. Neglecting your calling.

Ignoring your calling may be the largest barrier to happiness.

I get unhappy when I disregard my inner understanding, my mission, and my heart.

And I think too much, which is how I neglect my calling. feeling as though I am headed in the wrong direction or that something is off.

I take a big breath and let this thinking habit go when I realize it.

I have to let go of my perception of my path in order to pursue my calling.

I can only experience each moment of my life as it comes; I have no idea where it is headed. I find that frightening, but it is alright. I am able to let my mind wander and focus on my heart.

Fix: Let go of your ideal life and allow it to unfold as it was intended to. Take each moment of life as it comes. In any case, it is all you can do.

Being happy is something you are, not something you acquire. You are not pleased because you are taking your thoughts too seriously.

You possess wisdom that is ready to lead you. You just need to let go and see how you prevent yourself from getting to it.

It is not simple. It is a habit. Sometimes it requires time.

Even the haste to get things perfect, however, is a thinking. Leave it alone.
